BALANCE CYCLING - CLIMBING CAMP with Eric Schneider
his will be the first of 2 “Climbing Camps”, where we ride some of the famous climbs in France and Italy in “real time”, meaning that if it takes an hour to get up the actual climb, that’s what we will be doing in the cycle studio. To help motivate you we will use video which was actually shot from a bicycle while going up these mountains. This is a great way to work on your power and strength on the bike and the consistent steady effort is a big calorie burner. Wednesday, December 26 9:30-10:45am
Camp #1 – The first climb will be the Lacets du Montelvier in France, which will take us between 15 and 20 minutes. After a short recovery we will tackle the Col de Braus, which is a little bit over 40 minutes to the top. Our second climbing camp will be held on New Years day, when we will tackle a portion of the famous “Sella Ronda” loop in the Dolomite Mountains of Northern Italy. I did this loop on my trip last summer. Climb number one will be the spectacular Passo Pordoi, followed by a trip up Passo Sella, known for its amazing rock formations. Again, we will be climbing in “real time” using video footage, and it will take us a total of about 75 minutes to get up both climbs.
