Mat was born and raised in NYC. He moved to area with his wife and 2 boys in 2002. He’s an alumni of Denison University, where he played football and rugby. After college he joined the NYAC Rugby Club and played select side rugby for 8 years. Playing football in high school and college and playing rugby for NYAC he gained knowledge about fitness and strength, especially during the competitive months, and he learned how to train for the off season and pre-season.
Mat started working in the fitness industry over 12 years ago. He is a certified personal fitness and group trainer through the American Aerobic Association International & International Sports Medicine Association, (AAAI/ISMA), a certified cycling instructor through Mad Dogg Athletics Inc., and he has a Shaw Academy certification in child nutrition. He enjoys working with clients of all ages and he believes that fitness should be fun, inspiring, and he likes to help people connect with their best selves.
